Chris Helme

Chris Helme, Yorkshire Born and Bread started as a struggling Busker outside a Woolworths in York when luck struck when someone told him to send a tape of his work off to John Squire.
Talented Chris whos songs from Seahrses Debut Album "Do It Yourself" include ;

I Want You To Know (with Stu Flecher)
Blinded By The Sun, and
Hello

All form a major backbone to the structure of the Album, and not to mention his earlier work (also found on Seahorses B-Sides)

Dreamer
Movin' On (busking favourite)
Falling is Easy, and
Don't Try

These songs from his earlier days place a big black line through Chris and Johns upbringings.  Helme is more Accusital while Squire likes the heavier Lead role.  It worked at first.  As a band though songs had to be written together with each other liking and understanding each other. Helmes differences to Squire in the direction the Band should take supposidly split the band up on Febuary 22nd 1999.

"1999 Was a hell of a Year"
Helme - 1999

Helme has pleanty of talant and I for one would like to see him succeed in the Music world, He deserved his say in the formality of the band, so much so that they split up maybe?

Whats Ahead for Chris Helme?

A man with many a talent.  Supurb singing voice, good guitarist, good-looking (offers include that of Actress Wiona Ryder!).  There is no reason the lad could go solo like Bernard Butler or form/join another band.  Good Luck.
